There have been some recent changes to strjoin.m:

This is a change to the script file only, so should be easy to test.  Could
you please get the latest version of the script file:

http://hg.savannah.gnu.org/hgweb/octave/file/519343308ab1/scripts/strings/strjoin.m

(go to the web location and click on the left column menu item that indicates
"raw") and let us know if that solves the problem?
