Right.  I especially like the prospect that the GUI is not a separate
world.  It appears to be possible to use parts that are most helpful
without having to switch to a whole new framework.  Or, to wait all
afternoon for it to start up as in Matlab.  I have noticed that even
matlab -nodesktop  takes longer to come up than Octave with the
GUI.
