Follow-up Comment #1:
AFAIU this is not a bug in parcellfun/pararrayfun but the effect
of modifications done by debian/ubuntu package maintainers
to how pkg.m works on debian derived systems.
essentially on a debian/ubuntu system invoking pkg from within
octave does not really work, you should use your system package
manager instead, e.g.:
sudo apt-get install octave-general
I personally don't agree with this approach, if you do not either you can
1) Build Octave from source instead of using the .deb package with patched
pkg.m
2) Complain with the package maintainers and convince them that this should be
done differently (but this is gonna be very hard).
I'm tentatively marking this issue as "invalid", as it seems it should be
fixed elsewhere.
if anyone disagrees please feel free to reopen the bug.
