Follow-up Comment #11, bug #39433 (project octave):

Michael, I don't want it to look like I'm ignoring you. I have little spare
time right now, and am trying to focus my time to work on Octave on fixing the
problems with "position", "outerpostion", "looseinset", and "tightinset".

I have made some progress in understanding the problem in the last few days
and hope to propose a changeset (or maybe two) that improves things soon.
