Follow-up Comment #2, bug #39464 (project octave):
Trying to understand what was wrong,
I found the code for checking versions
in pkg.m was overly complicated and could
be simplified and made more robust.
With the attached changeset the fpl DESCRIPTION
does not cause errors when installing.
Can you please test it a bit?
