Details:

To reproduce, run the first demo of the attached prof_demo.m file (added since
previous bug report):

Or, on the Octave prompt:

prof_test(1)  --> OK
prof_test(1)  --> will error, since issuing "profile clear" with active
profiler
prof_test(2)  --> assertion failure
