URL: <http://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?39722> Summary: history list adds extraneous carriage return when recalling commands Project: GNU Octave Submitted by: sebald Submitted on: Wed 07 Aug 2013 11:53:43 PM GMT Category: GUI Severity: 3 - Normal Priority: 5 - Normal Item Group: None Status: None Assigned to: None Originator Name: Originator Email: Open/Closed: Open Discussion Lock: Any Release: dev Operating System: GNU/Linux _______________________________________________________ Details: When double-clicking an item in the history window list the command that appears has an extra carriage return in it. That carriage return is putting space into the command line and then it also shows up in the history with an extra carriage return. This behavior leads to this kind of strangeness when one keeps selecting the most recent command in the history buffer: >> test assert PASSES 57 out of 57 tests >> test assert PASSES 57 out of 57 tests >> test assert PASSES 57 out of 57 tests >> test assert PASSES 57 out of 57 tests >> test assert PASSES 57 out of 57 tests >> test assert PASSES 57 out of 57 tests >> I will write a short patch that removes this carriage return, but I wonder if the "\n" was added because of something strange someone might have found on a different OS. _______________________________________________________ Reply to this item at: <http://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?39722> _______________________________________________ Message sent via/by Savannah http://savannah.gnu.org/
