Follow-up Comment #11, bug #39822 (project octave):

BTW, with your patch, on long printouts the pager (in the GUI) now gives me:


WARNING: terminal is not fully functional
-  (press RETURN)


and if I set 
set TERM=
(or set it to xterm, cygwin, ...)
in the batch script I use to launch Octave, getenv ("TERM") still answers
"dumb".
