[Octave-bug-tracker] Release candidate?

A question:  Would the first release candidate be
appropriate essentially now?

Obviously, there are several bugs that need to be
fixed before the real release, but there are also a
huge number of changes since the last release.
I doubt if any of the current blocking bugs will
even be noticed by the people who try the release
candidate, but they are likely to find new problems.

The sooner these are found the better.
