Follow-up Comment #12, bug #40381 (project octave):
An MXE (cross-)built octave.exe (17780:8b353af4a1ca) won't start the GUI on my
WinXP & Win7 systems.
octave-gui.exe itself works OK AFAICS.
On Win7 I get:
c:\Octave\octave-2013-10-28-15-50\bin>octave
octave: failed to exec
'\home\philip\devel\octdev\mxe-new\mxe-octave\usr\i686-pc-mingw32\bin\octave-gui'
==> Looks like this is again a build-versus-install path problem a la bug
#40284.
I'll try to run tests & report on that later.
