Follow-up Comment #34, bug #40436 (project octave): Is it a good idea to consider release of 3.8 with this bug? I do not think that waiting for all systems which are on 4.8.2 to move to 4.8.3 is viable. It is not yet verified that the problem is fixed in 4.8.3 in any case. Is there anything wrong with changing the algorithm in nth_element in data.cc?
