Follow-up Comment #3:
I just did 'make clean' and 'make distclean' in libgui and I don't get this
long list of rm statements with wildcards. Maybe this has been fixed already.
I do get just three instances of wildcards at the top-level and they are all
automake generated statements.
rm -f *.o
rm -f *.lo
rm -f *.tab.c
