Follow-up Comment #1, bug #40792 (project octave):
A few questions:
* I guess you mean you have deleted octave from ~/.config?
* Are you seeing the welcome wizard before the frozen gui?
* Are you building from the stable or default branch?
* What do you mean by "from git"?
