This happens upon loading the io package if there is no
[octave_config_info("libdir") filesep "java"]
subdirectory present:

Cause: sloppy testing by me, it didn't occur to me to test this w/o Java
spreadsheet class libs (I have them installed so never hit it).

I'll prepare a fix + io-2.0.1
