Follow-up Comment #2, bug #32617 (project octave):

5/15/2011 is not so recent now.  Has this problem been fixed?  It seems to
work better now, especially with opengl+fltk.  But the results I see now are
not exactly the same as what Michael showed in his original testpdf.pdf file,
but maybe that's because of font differences?  The attached file is what I see
using 3.8.0.

Well, printing with opengl+fltk doesn't work, but that's a separate bug.  I'm
attaching a screen shot for that one.
