Follow-up Comment #14, bug #33503 (project octave):

Could you check to see what Matlab does for the original example? If it does
not produce 0 for the third element, then I propose we don't attempt to fix
this problem in Octave's null function. This case with null seems to me to be
similar to expecting sin(pi) to produce exactly 0.
