Follow-up Comment #4, bug #41280 (project octave):

I am able to confirm this, too. I would like to make some tests but I have
trouble building an mxe build of the actual stable branch. When I use the
original octave package downloaded during the mxe-build, the files

usr/i686-pc-mingw32/include/java/include/win32/jni_md.h
usr/i686-pc-mingw32/include/java/include/jni.h

are installed and configure results in (all paths abbreviated and relative to
the mxe-directory)

Java CPPFLAGS: -Iusr/i686-pc-mingw32/include/java/include
-Iusr/i686-pc-mingw32/include/java/include/win32

Using the result of "make dist" for an mxe build I get

Java CPPFLAGS: -Iusr/i686-pc-mingw32/include/java
-Iusr/i686-pc-mingw32/include/java/win32

which does not match the installation dirs. Any clues what might be wrong?
