Details:

I'm using octave-3.8.1-rc4

I have compared the graphical results of the two backends, gnuplot and fltk,
and the quality of the PNG output is not comparable. I'm attaching the two
.png files obtained from the same data and with the same plot commands.

Besides the line width of the plot trace (which can be fixed adjusting the
right parameter), I see bad rendering of the grid lines in the fltk output.

The labels style is also different comparing the two plots.
