Follow-up Comment #2, bug #41800 (project octave):
Good analysis Mike.
Confirmed with the attached script w Octave-3.6.4_gcc4.6.2.
Changing "clear all" into just "clear" makes the script work OK and avoids the
segfault.
Now, what will we do here? is 3.6.4 still supported?
In 3.8.0 for MinGW "clear all" doesn't seem to give problems. The attached
script runs fine in 3.8.0.
