Update of bug #41833 (project octave):
Status: None => Works For Me
Open/Closed: Open => Closed

Follow-up Comment #1:
I see a different error with my build:
octave:8> javaclasspath
error: unable to find Java Runtime Environment: software\javasoft\java
runtime
nvironment::Currentversion
error: called from:
error: C:\Octave\Octave-3.8.1\share\octave\3.8.1\m\java\javaclasspath.m at
line 60, column 16
but after installing the JRE from java.com, I see this:
>> javaclasspath
STATIC JAVA PATH
- empty -
DYNAMIC JAVA PATH
- empty -
The java interface will be included in the "official" binary that I plan to
distribute from ftp.octave.org.
