Follow-up Comment #5, bug #41893 (project octave): Keeping the buffer width in sync with the window width is more a trade-off than anything else, because that's the most likely expected behavior (like resizing a terminal in Linux). It doesn't play well if you only want to shrink the command window temporarily.
