Details:

With the focus in a file in the editor in the GUI, using the main main copy,
paste and select all do not do anything.

This is when using the mnenu option itself, not the shortcut keys, or editor
menu.

This would have changed with this changeset:
http://hg.savannah.gnu.org/hgweb/octave/rev/86eca5d178a6

Patch attached that adds back the 3 slots that are connected to the main menu
for these commands.
