Follow-up Comment #1:

Thank you for your bug report. We fixed this in a slightly different way. For
Matlab compatibility, imrotate should be using 0 as default value anyway (see
bug #42168).

This has been fixed on the current development version (see cset 33c44c229f74)
and will be part of the next stable version (probably 2.4.0).
