Follow-up Comment #3, bug #42471 (project octave):
I'm not at all sure what could be causing this. Since it's one computer of
yours and not another, could it be based on configuration? Can you try running
Octave on the offending system either under a brand new user account or with
an empty home directory and configuration, something like:
mkdir /tmp/fakehome
HOME=/tmp/fakehome INPUTRC=/dev/null /usr/bin/octave --norc --force-gui
Does that change anything?
