Follow-up Comment #9, bug #33180 (project octave):

I would like to echo Moreno's comments. Being forced to use GnuPlot is an
acceptable choice but if GnuPlot is ever dropped, this is something that will
need to be addressed. I have a multitude of scripts where the Octave window is
hidden so that they don't interfere with the user's console.
