Follow-up Comment #4, bug #34624 (project octave): This bug is still present in the latest development versions and release candidates (3.8.2-rc2). D. Robinson's patch below seems to solve it. I attach to this comment a slightly modified patch that can be applied to recent revisions (files have been moved since then). Is there a specific reason why this patch has not been considered since feb. 2012 ? This is a VERY annoying bug and I would be happy to help improving the patch if anybody could tell me what needs to be improved.
