Follow-up Comment #7, bug #42838 (project octave):

Has this problem been reported to the gnuplot developers?

Can someone running gnuplot v5rc# try editing the log file and change the 3rd
line to 


set output './debug.eps';
-verbatim+

Then from a terminal/shell prompt, type


gnuplot octave-print-commands.log


And then attach the eps-file (junk.eps) that is created.

If the file looks good, then there may be a bug in Octave. However, if the
plot looks correct, then my expectations is that the bug is with gnuplot.
