Follow-up Comment #23, bug #42534 (project octave):

I can also confirm this bug on Windows 7 (x64), using MXE 3.8.2-1 Portable,
with epstool 3.08.  Additionally I have tried hiding the axes with "axis off"
and saving as PNG with "print ("-dpngalpha", "figure.png")".  Plot lines are
just not saved, but certain plot symbols are ("O" and "+").  

With the gnuplot backend, saving as an EMF file does work for simple plots;
however, my plots are quite complicated.  As such, gnuplot doesn't plot
anything, and crashes during EMF export.
