Follow-up Comment #8, bug #42742 (project octave):
While it is tempting to just think of a hack to prevent
r(1) == 0 leading to error, the comment in the doc:
*Caution:* This is a numerically unstable algorithm and should not
be used on large polynomials.
is worth noting. It would be a good idea to review
some current literature and find a more robust algorithm.
