Follow-up Comment #13, bug #43349 (project octave):

I think that you got NaN due to the R requirement of
explicitly making the input complex. That is why
I used cos(asin(2+0i). Without the +0i, R says NaNs...

Is there anyone with suitable skills who could do this
sooner than a year from now?
