Follow-up Comment #43, bug #42534 (project octave):

Sergey: IIRC I had the same problem on my AMD Radeon machine (with APU).
Some of the lines had holes in them, or were simply missing points (only in
the printed result). I will do some extended testing on my AMD laptop and
report back.

Regarding Mesa drivers, these technically should always provide a complete,
albeit much slower result, since it is software rendering and no transient,
buggy hardware drivers are in the mix. From the FAQ on the Mesa project's
website:

Software rendering with Mesa serves as a reference for validating the hardware
drivers.

So if the printing is not working with Mesa OpenGL on a certain setup, then I
would tend to say that it isn't the OpenGL backend that would be causing the
problem in such a particular case, unless some new, fancy OpenGL extensions
are involved :)

Andreas:
The Mesa drivers did solve the problem for me on Windows 7 x64 :)
On my "Intel HD Graphics" machine, I cannot obtain administrator rights. I
can say though, that some manner of Intel GPU drivers appear to be installed
(as evidenced by the system tray icon and device manager), and that 3d
rendering does seem to work.
