Follow-up Comment #5, bug #43384 (project octave):

I have not tried that yet. I am running Coverity static analyser on Octave, it
found this issue.

Based on my past experience the code works somehow even if some variables are
used without inititalising so unfortunately even a test case may not be able
to uncover it.
