Follow-up Comment #19, bug #38928 (project octave): I'm now hitting the problem with hdf5.h being installed in /usr/include/hdf5/serial on Debian systems. Why was this change made? Should we accomodate it in the Octave configure script? It seems odd to have to put #include <hdf5/serial/hdf5.h> in Octave's files, but I can do that if needed. Should we also be searching for hdf5/mpich/hdf5.h? What about hdf5/openmpi/hdf5.h? Or maybe hdf5/hdf5.h?
