Follow-up Comment #1:

This is really a different repeat of bug #41074.

The issue with minimizing the command window is that then the initial welcome
to octave wizard is also minimized and so nothing gets displayed normally on
the screen.

I remember taking a bit of a look at trying to override the minimize for the
welcome wizard, but couldnt find a way in Qt.
