Follow-up Comment #2, bug #43522 (project octave):
I have also had the very same behavior last week while giving an Octave course
in a classroom with a bunch of elderly desktop PCs. This was the current
3.8.2-3 mxe version on Windows 7, downloaded from mxeoctave.osuv.de. Gnuplot
worked fine, though. Since the course is over now, I do not have access to
those PCs any more, sorry...
