Follow-up Comment #4, bug #43968 (project octave):

Ok. My guess is that repeated errors ("[...] This is a serious error. [...]")
are unrelated to the crash, and that the crash is due to a Macports build
problem.

I switched from Macports to Fink because 3.8.2 from Macports alway seg-faulted
when I quit Octave.
