Follow-up Comment #12, bug #44219 (project octave):
I have pushed the patch with small cosmetic changes in check_file_modified
(changeset http://hg.savannah.gnu.org/hgweb/octave/rev/21015ca26566).
The language files have not been updated for a very long time. This is done by
the qt-tool "lupdate" which collects the strings directly from the source
files. The Italian translation is new, that's why the strings from recent
changes are showing up only there and in no other language files.
