Follow-up Comment #1, bug #44360 (project octave): Could you try again without --enable-jit? I recently noticed a problem with Octave crashing while trying to plot (to the screen, not to a file) when I enabled jit. I did not have time to track down the problem, but if the problem also goes away for you if you use --disable-jit (the default) then at least that will be confirmation that there is some problem triggered by linking with LLVM libraries (my guess to the source of the problem). You won't be missing anything by disabling the JIT compiler.
