Follow-up Comment #1:
Actually, I've decided that the documentation is clearer as written. When
someone is learning something new it is best to concentrate on the essentials,
and then add the refinements later. For example, in physics we don't start
teaching students immediately about relativistic corrections to mass. Instead
we start out with Newton's 3 laws and only later explain that in certain
circumstances the equations change.
In this case, the annotations like titles and x- or y-labels are just window
dressing which I think obscures the information trying to be conveyed. And
these topics are taken up later in the manual.
