Follow-up Comment #32, bug #44478 (project octave): Hi Andreas, Any call to gl* functions causes a segfault (in the Octave code, not in the mesa demos). In the code attached in comment #30, I have removed everything except the initialization part of the function and then call the innocent glEnable (GL_DEPTH_TEST); to get an segmentation fault. Replacing that with any other gl* function will also produce the segfault.
