Follow-up Comment #1, bug #44564 (project octave):
Thanks for the report - when I tried to emulate your problem I couldn't see
the same issue:
A=diag(2*ones(19,1))+diag(-1*ones(18,1),-1)+diag(-1*ones(18,1),1);
spy(A)
I tried 4.0.0-rc1 and 3.8.2 with gnuplot, fltk and qt(in 4.0) - can you try a
newer version of octave?
