Follow-up Comment #4, bug #43522 (project octave):

It does crashes. Please reopen the ticket. In my case
plot(1:900)  works OK
plot(1:1000) crashes!

If graphics_toolkit is set to "gnuplot" instead then everything OK.


System details:

    cat /etc/issue
    Ubuntu 14.10

    GNU Octave, version 3.8.1
    graphics_toolkit 
    ans = fltk

    uname -a
    3.2.0-65-generic-pae #99-Ubuntu SMP Fri Jul 4 21:17:05 UTC 2014 i686 i686
i686 GNU/Linux
