Follow-up Comment #7, bug #44753 (project octave): It is unclear to me what the ar. (w/o file extension) is used for. It is a binary file, but won't run in mingw/MSYS shell: $ ar. ./ar.: ./ar.: cannot execute binary file $ ar.exe Usage: d:\Octave\Octave32-4.0.0-rc2\bin\ar.exe [emulation options] [-]{dmpqrstx}[abcDfilMNoPsSTuvV] [--plugin <name>] [member-name] [count] archive-file file... d:\Octave\Octave32-4.0.0-rc2\bin\ar.exe -M [<mri-script] commands: d - delete file(s) from the archive : Moreover, I do not see binary files w/o extension in the 32-bit Octave bin/ subdir; I only see them in the 64-bit Octave bin/ folder. Could that explain a few things? _______________________________________________________ Reply to this item at: <http://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?44753> _______________________________________________ Message sent via/by Savannah http://savannah.gnu.org/
