Follow-up Comment #33:

I can confirm that upgrading to the clang 3.6 compiler resolves this
particular error (the bug fix referenced in comment #30). I think we can call
this one a compiler bug that has been resolved, not a bug in Octave. Marking
as invalid because the fix is external to Octave.
