Details:

The interp2 documentation mentions the parameter "EXTRAPVAL", but it is
actually never used in the code.

Moreover, interp2 used to work with the option "EXTRAP" as a string for any
method. I wonder why this is now limited to splines, although e.g. the linear
method is much more "tame".
