Follow-up Comment #3, bug #44882 (project octave):

I haven't try your patch, but does your change will auto-convert the result of
"javaArray" function?

Matlab documentation indicates that, because Matlab passes arguments by value,
changes made by a Java method to an auto-converted array will be lost. To
avoid that, it suggest to use java arrays instead. but if javaArray's result
is automatically converted, this is not possible anymore.
