Follow-up Comment #5, bug #44912 (project octave): @Mike: It's true that we may not have been able to break out of system calls in the past. But we were able to break out of Octave m-files and this has also disappeared. Sample code in tst_for.m N = 1e5; for i = 1:N y(i) = sin (rand (1)); endfor This takes about 5 seconds ond my computer and I can't use Ctrl+C to stop it. This worked in 3.8.2.
