Follow-up Comment #48, bug #42838 (project octave): Ben, This is being done for Matlab compatibility even though it is a VERY bad idea. epsc only has significance within Matlab/Octave. After creating the *.epsc file its name has to be changed if it is to be recognized as Encapsulated PostScript.
