Details:
After installing image-2.4.0, I tried:
a = imread(fname) and complains:
error: imformats: support for Image IO was disabled when Octave was built
error: called from
imformats>default_formats at line 256 column 11
imformats at line 79 column 3
imageIO at line 106 column 11
imread at line 106 column 3
I searched in the web and says that probably the "graphicsMagick-dev" was
missing, and indeed was missing and it suggests to check the "config.log". I
installed the library but still image IO is disabled in octave.
The BUG that I report is the fact that in the final summary of the "./config"
that shows any missing libraries, the library "graphicsMagick" was not shown
as missing. Actually I installed all the libraries that were shown as missing
at the summary after running "config" and only then I proceeded for the build.
Now that I looked in "config.log" somewhere in the middle it mentions:
Package GraphicsMagick++ was not found in the pkg-config search path.
Perhaps you should add the directory containing `GraphicsMagick++.pc'
to the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable
No package 'GraphicsMagick++' found
I think the purpose of the final summary in the console from "./config" is to
report all the missing libraries and it must be sufficient instead for the
user to have to read all small letters in log files.
Now that installed the "graphicsMagick", do I have to re-install octave from
the start or there is a way to enable "image IO"?
if I have to re-install octave, how can I be sure that something else again
would be missing again that was not reported in the summary of "./config"?
