Another problem, different from bug#45578:

Attempting to build a current default branch octave using mxe-octave, I get:

Perhaps you used the wrong -p or --strip option?

It seems that there is a problem with the patch in 
mxe-octave/src/default-octave-1-docinstall.patch, which is 
probably not compatible to Makefile.in
